StackJack 0.1.0.9646+2f2e3a6

This release adds Microsoft Purview tools through CIPP and Microsoft Graph, folder management for IT Glue documents, and the ability to add or remove group members and owners through CIPP. The Portal also gets a Light, Dark, or Match system theme choice and better text contrast throughout.

New features

  • Theme choice in the Portal. The header now has a theme control with Light, Dark, and Match system options. The Portal remembers your choice between visits and applies it before the page appears, so pages no longer flash the wrong theme while loading.
  • Microsoft Purview tools on CIPP (requires CIPP 10.5.0 or later):
  • Sensitivity labels: list labels and label policies, deploy, edit, and remove labels.
  • Data loss prevention (DLP) policies: the policy's mode controls whether it enforces or runs as a test.
  • Retention policies and retention labels, plus read-only listing of Exchange messaging records management policies and retention tags.
  • Custom sensitive information types. You can deploy one from a plain regex pattern without writing any XML. The pattern is sent exactly as you supply it, so meaningful leading or trailing spaces are kept.
  • Communication Compliance policies and rules, read-only. Microsoft does not support creating or changing these through PowerShell.
  • If a deploy tool is given a policy name that already exists, it updates that policy instead of creating a new one.
  • These tools reject inputs that CIPP would otherwise discard silently while still reporting success. For example, an unrecognized DLP mode such as "Simulation" is refused instead of creating an enforcing policy. The refusal message lists the valid modes, including the test modes.
  • Microsoft Purview tools on Microsoft Graph:
  • List, view, create, update, and delete retention labels.
  • Read sensitivity labels.
  • List insider risk alerts.
  • Group membership through CIPP. A new tool adds or removes group members and owners. You can identify users by ID, user principal name, or email address, and it works for distribution lists and mail-enabled security groups. Available on Pro.
  • IT Glue document folders. New tools view, create, and update a document folder, and update or delete document folders in bulk. Bulk update and bulk delete are available on Pro.

Improvements

  • Creating an IT Glue document now accepts an optional folder, so new documents can go straight into the right place.
  • Listing IT Glue document folders now supports filtering by parent folder (including root-level folders only) and sorting.
  • The IT Glue document update tools now state that a document's folder cannot be changed after the document is created. IT Glue does not allow this.
  • The Microsoft Graph connection now requests the permissions the new Purview label tools need. Existing Microsoft Graph connections receive these permissions the next time they are re-authorized.

UI & UX changes

  • Text, form fields, focus outlines, and status colours across the Portal now meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast in both light and dark themes.
  • Dark styling now follows the theme you pick in the Portal rather than your operating system's colour setting.
  • Form fields display correctly in the light theme. Placeholder text in form fields is easier to read.
  • Pages shown before sign-in use a light version of the logo in the light theme.
  • Several connector logos now sit on a light background so they stay legible.
  • The in-app messenger, the feedback widget, and the guided tour now follow the selected theme.

Known issues

  • When you deploy a sensitivity label through CIPP with a parent label that doesn't exist in the target tenant, CIPP creates the label at the top level instead of nesting it.
  • When you update an existing sensitivity label through CIPP, any parent label you supply is ignored.
